About this coffee:
Grown in the rich volcanic soil in Costa Rica’s Central Valley, Black Pearl is processed at Las Lajas micromill. Las Lajas is one of the only certified-organic mills in the area, owned by third-generation coffee producers Oscar and Francisca Chacon. Perla Negra, “Black Pearl,” refers to the mill’s unique processing method for this natural coffee: Drying the coffee directly in the sun for ten days, rotating constantly, then transferring to bags to rest for two-three days. The coffee is then finished on raised beds, yielding an exquisitely winey cup with berry and citrus notes. Black Pearl is a coffee cultivated for a remarkable cupping experience.
