We’re brewing up something new at King Bean and yes, that pun is intended!
Introducing Coffee for a Cause, our way of giving back to our community AND our customers.
Several times a year, we’ll announce a Coffee for a Cause sale in our online shop. All orders receive 15% off with 10% of these savings go a charitable cause in our Charleston Community.
The first Coffee for a Cause recipient is Sara’s Cure, a grassroots, race-against-time campaign to fund critical research to help 19-year-old Sara Woods and others suffering from clear cell sarcoma cancer.
From Sara’s Cure:
Through persistent deep digging and a little luck, Sara’s parents have found a researcher at Oregon Health and Science University who is working specifically on Sara’s sarcoma: ESWR1-ATF1 gene fusion. Science is moving rapidly in this direction of immunotherapy but rare sarcoma like Sara’s is low on the research priority list. However, by connecting this key researcher with Dr. Antonescu of Memorial Sloan Kettering and top pathologist in this field Sara’s Cure is a possible reality. The missing ingredient is funding—this is where you can help.
Online sales Aug. 24 through 26 will save 15% off with the code “SARASCURE” with 10% going directly to the charity.
And if you’re in Charleston, come visit us at our Coffee Pop Up at the Spartina 449 Store on King Street on Saturday, Aug 25 from 1-3. We’ll be selling bags of coffee to benefit Sara’s Cure and will be serving up icy cups of cold brew.
